It is a pork noodle soup restaurant. You can perhaps order some Edamame.
My favourite ramen place of all time. The Santouka chain is amazingly consistent when it comes to their ramen. Been to all 3 locations in Toronto and all of them have served ramen with the most amazing pork broth with perfectly textured noodles. Highly recommend getting the Shio based ramen as it is perfect enhances the taste of the soup broth.
MoreFriendly, fast service. Delicious ramen. I love that you can ask for less salty broth. A tad pricier than some other ramen places, yes, but I found it well worth it. Excellent quality ingredients, perfectly cooked noodles, nice ambiance.
MoreIt's a good ramen spot but has very little options outside the ramen. The small rice bowls are not worth the cost at all.
MoreI certainly enjoyed the food and service, fantastic location right next to my apartment. The cashiers are always very welcoming. Will visit here again.
MoreVery good ramen! Love their broths Their sandwiches are amazing a swell
The service was nice, friendly stuff and the place looks decent too, but we went there to eat and their vegetable ramen was really bad.The server didn't ask what type of noodles we want, we waited approximately 10 minutes and it looked like simple hot steamed veggies dumped in soy with kale noodles. Kale noodles sounds fancy but it felt like I was eating hot clay. It was getting stuck on my teeth and it was simply uncomfortable. Their veggies were cabbage, broccoli, carrots and mushrooms. No corn and no tofu. It was available if purchased separately. The whole dish was $15.65 while the steamed veggies cost $3.65. does Soy and Noodles really cost over $12?Couldn't finish it, left this place unhappy. The servant didn't offer any other options except saying "I could offer you egg noodles, but I guess you don't want to stay here?"
MoreSuper nice staff and delicious foods. Everyone should give this place a try.
I'm not a ramen fan but glad they had other items to the menu. The I got the beef and veggie plate. It was small but well made. My other friends got ramen and enjoyed their meal. The mulled wine was delicious. The space is tight but still able to accomodate a big group. We did make a reservation but were given the table 20 minutes later. The service was very friendly.Accessible bathroom at the main floor but it's a tight space for a wheelchair.
MoreWhat a busy place? But it's a trend so most of the Ramen places are busy now a days. Food and service were decent. I like the option of smaller portion for a dollar less. I hate to waste but also hate to stuff myself to finish food on my plate. So that was good option. We were 6 people and our bill came to $240 including some alcohol and tip. So about $40 per person.
MoreExcellent food and service! Cosy atmosphere and not as busy as downtown location.
MoreWent here with my Japanese buddy because he said it was authentic. Have to add it was great, not too salty as some broths can be.And they have Ashahi Super Dry on draft...don't see that very often in Toronto. It's usually Sapporo. So that was nice.
MoreI constantly stop purchasing some food in here. I enjoy the speedy customer service and well made food. Kudos.
MoreI was lucky enough to be invited to the private event. Great atmosphere and tasty ramen. Best service I have ever received. Great people and great food. Must try when you are in Toronto.
MoreOMG, the ramen here is so good! The broth is rich and creamy, and the noodles taste freshly made.
MoreGreat food and portions, every time I'm craving for Ramen I go there very recommended
MoreThis place was simply okay. The service was fast, the soup had very little meat portions. It was roughly $50 for two servings of soup. Wouldn't go back tbh. Nothing special.
MoreSoup stock is great. Fried chicken is juicy with form coating.
A really nice ramen shop. The signature pork jowl is fantastic! And I like the fact that they provide options to change the taste of the broth (salty or lighter). The ramen texture is a bit hard for me. I feel like it can be softer. The price is a little higher than normal but I guess that's understandable since it's on the Michelin Guide. But honestly I'm a little bit disappointed since they have a 4.6 star on Google.
MoreGlad to see Hokkaido Ramen Santouka opened in the Yonge and Eglinton area. There is always a line up at the downtown location. The ramen is delicious and broth is rich and flavorful. Can't wait to go back to have more.
MoreRamen was delicious and service was great. The only issues I had were the fact that it took a while to prepare our food and we were 1 of 2 tables. It could have been that we came close to closing time so they were already cleaning up and had to whip up something, but not 100% sure.I would also say the portion for the price is not ideal. You get a small bowl of ramen for a normal ramen price. I’d suggest they increase the portions or decrease the price.
MoreVery satisfied with this ramen joint! Delicious broth and ingredients were quite affordable (in comparison to other ramen restaurants), despite other reviews saying otherwise. Their noodle patty/sandwich was also quite interesting and flavourful for what it actually was: soy sauce laden noodles encased in white bread. Who would’ve thought?! 🤷ðŸ½â€â™‚ï¸ Definitely come here if you’re in the area and craving some warm ramen 👌ðŸ½
MoreI'm so happy for finding this placeSalmon sushi was cute and good, but you could think about that it's too much riceSpicy miso ramen was a lit bit salty..not spicy for me thoughService was good :)
MoreGood ramen. on the pricey side with the added toppings (ie. 3$ for corn).
This place never fails to impress. They have excellent food for affordable pricing, there no long wait even when the place is busy.
MoreExtremely delicious! Full of flavor, beautifully presented, and extremely quick service. They were always attentive if we needed more water or tea. Will come back again.
Moretheir ramen was really great! I really appreciate having vegetarian options.
The ramen was good and it was my first time having bamboo which is a very different experience. Service was really good as well and such a cozy and nice place. For my taste, I just had better ramen, that's why I removed one star, but it doesn't make the ramen any less good.
MoreKara spicy ramen, pickles, and friend chicken was fabulous. Great ramen!
It was ok overall.. Didnt really like their fried chicken, but the Japanese style fluffy egg was good and the ramen was ok
MoreExceptional ramen! Will definitely come back!
A bowl of ramen from Hokkaido Ramen is a perfect remedy for a cold night walking along Yonge Street. The noodles were perfect and the broth was delicious. Great service and a live drums/trombone jazz performance capped off a great dinner!
MoreRamen has to be one of my favourite foods and this place does it the best out of all the ramen I have tried. I am always on the hunt for new good ramen but nothing can compare. I come from Ajax with my boyfriend almost every weekend we have off. It’s so good after a long work week. The appetizers are very good. Drinks are good they have a coke float which is very yummy. Ramen noodles have good texture and consistency. Broth is always on point. And lastly the staff are so friendly and attentive :)Thank you for the always wonderful experience!
MoreBest ramen Japanese restaurant I ever been to. In the US, usually when a restaurant says Japanese or sushi , it is owned by Koreans or Chinese. But in Toronto they are the real deal! I was welcomed by the charming staff and spoke a few japanese words and there i was sitting waiting on my food. The ramen were delicious and rich in flavors. The place is cozy, comfortable and kawaii ! I really loved my experience! I would definitely go again when I visit Toronto! I already miss the nice service
MoreBroth is always incredible, rich and perfect for a cold day. Toppings like chilli sauce/ paste and eggs are great sides.Pictured below: Shio Ramen
MoreI’ve tried different ramen restaurants. This one is at average level. The ramen was salty, and the service was not very good.
MoreI regularly arrive buying some food here. I enjoyed the prompt customer service and well made food. Great work.
MoreOverpriced for almost 20$ Kara tsukemen (after tax) basically empty inside the soup bowl, only 1 egg and small cuts of pork. Soup taste plain. Disappointed! The Ocha(tea) came in small cup-with tea bag, not effective for asking refill many times. Its better just order water in the big glass.Service was nice.
MoreRating it a 3.5 to 4ish. Tasty ramen that is a little bit on the saltier side but flavourful nonetheless. Prices are a little pricier for the portions you get although it does match a bit more to the quality. There are unique seating arrangements here and with a large grp (4+) get there early. They only have pork and vege options here...no beef or chicken. Friendly service here and it definitely gets warm in here when having noodles.
MoreIt's not too bad, except the ramen noodles are thin, curly, and yellowish, more like Chinese egg noodles.
MoreShio Ramen with seasoned egg. The soup was really good and creamy. I would come back for sure.
MoreWow was this place amazing. Am new to Ramen and son took us here. Just delicious. Beautiful presentation and beautiful restaurant. Sparkling clean with a delicious taste in the air.
MoreOmg them noodles! Sofa king good! Staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially to the ignorant. Can't wait to go back!
MoreGood Ramen! Selection is very small, but very specific. I am guessing this is because they are a specialty Ramen restaurant. The quality of food was great and it shows. The staff\servers are very friendly and accommodating to any special requests.
MoreI really loved the Ramen here. I liked the fact that they had different sizes. Usually the ramen is too big for me and I feel bad to waste food. But here I could order a smaller bowl! It was delicious! Totally recommended.
MoreGood food. Service is good, not overbearing. And as a bonus they had live jazz which enticed us to come in.I had the special dish. I can't remember what it was called with the pork cheek. It was incredible. (I had the spicy one)I also tried some green tea IPA beer which was meh. All I tasted was IPA, nothing special. Food is great.
MoreJust like their downtown location but without the lineup and more spacious!I was worried the ramen wouldn't hold up to their downtown location but was happy to be proven wrong! In my opinion, Santouka has the best ramen around!
MoreLove the Ramen! The staff is great and the atmosphere and decor is really nice too. The noodles are very fresh and tasty.
MoreGood ramen at good prices. On Friday night they had live jazz.
Tasty miso ramen with creamy pork bone broth and limited time Japanese dango dessert. Lots of seating and no line up at the midtown location.
MoreThis is a great place. Really enjoyed the spicy ramen and gyoza. Portion size was a little smaller than normal but I found this kind of nice. Jazz music and good atmosphere. Kinda pricey cost $32 all in. More of a date place than a quick bowl of ramen.
